1. Gros Islet

Gros Islet is also in the north of St Lucia, making it an ideal destination to visit if you are staying at the Cap Maison. Until fairly recently it was a small village, but in recent years it has grown to become a very popular tourist destination. One of the highlights is the nearby Fort Rodney on Pigeon Island, an old naval base that was built in 1782, by the British.

2. Soufrire

Soufrire is located in the southwest of St Lucia, so you will have to travel a little bit further to reach it from your base at Cap Maison but it is very easy to get to. This former capital of the island is a very relaxing and chilled out place, with one of the big attractions here being the hot springs. This is also the best place to go to see The Pitons, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

3. Castries

Castries is the capital of St Lucia and is almost certainly one of the places you will want to visit at some point during your stay in the Cap Maison. There is plenty to see and do here, including eating out and wonderful shopping. It is also the place where the majority of the cruise ships stop off. Other highlights include the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Fort Charlotte.

4. Marigot Bay

Situated on the west coast, Marigot Bay is only a few miles from Castries so you can easily visit these two places together. Surrounded by hills, it is a very attractive place and you will also find the Saint Lucian National Marine Reserve located here.

5. Vieux Fort

Vieux Fort is situated in the far south of St Lucia, and is the location of Hewanorra International Airport. There is a good chance you will arrive here so try to spend some time in the town to explore before you set off to see the rest of the island.
